National Cement Co. of California Inc. plans to upgrade its cement plant in Lebec to produce calcined clay cement and build a carbon dioxide capture facility with a pipeline to an off-site sequestration center. The scope of the phased Lebec Net Zero cement plant project includes the purchase of pipes; grading, trenching, pipe stringing, welding, coating, filling; and purchase and installation of conveyors, biomass reception and pelletizing equipment, refrigeration, compression, separation, CO₂ measurement and pressure equipment. The facility will have the capacity to capture 950,000 metric tons of CO₂ per year. Construction is expected to last until 2027 or 2028. SOUTH DAKOTA
Five Shot RNG LLC plans to build a renewable natural gas plant in Lincoln County. The project scope includes construction of 1.5 miles of connector piping, anaerobic digester tanks, and equipment foundations; and purchase and installation of process piping, a flare, a thermal oxidizer, and gas separation and purification equipment. The plant will have the capacity to produce 2.5 million MMBtu of RNG annually. Site preparation is expected to begin in late second or early third quarter 2024. TENNESSEE
Highland Materials Inc. plans to build a polysilicon aluminum alloy plant on a 100-acre site in the Phipps Bend Industrial Park in Phipps Bend. The scope of the project includes the construction of a 1.2 million square meter building and equipment foundation; purchase and assembly of structural steel; and purchase and installation of raw material storage and handling, conveyors, cranes, furnaces, process vessels, chemical storage tanks, heat recovery systems and refrigeration, smelting and emission control equipment at the air The plant will have an initial capacity to produce 16,000 metric tons of solar silicon per year.
