Kubota Tractor Corp. today unveiled its new BX90 line of subcompact tractors, introducing five models in three trim levels 26 years after the company launched the original BX series that established the category in 2000. Kubota describes the BX90 as a complete platform redesign focused on loader power, mowing performance and operator comfort.
The lineup includes the BX2190, BX2390 Deluxe, and BX2690 Premium, along with two backhoe-equipped configurations, the BX2390S and BX2690S Premium. The series will arrive at authorized dealers in early 2027.
The BX90 series aims to offer year-round versatility, from clearing snow and preparing gardens to mowing lawns, managing seasonal cleaning and moving equipment. Highlights include:
- Increased Charger Capacity: The BX90 Series increases loader productivity with redesigned LA355 and LA405 loaders that offer lift capacities up to 721 and 904 pounds, respectively. The BX2390 and BX2690 models combine higher hydraulic flow and pressure with faster cycle times and stronger response at lower engine speeds. Dual bucket cylinders, an improved recoil angle, protected hose routing and an easier-to-align loading cradle are designed to support efficient operation, improve material retention and allow for more convenient loader attachment and removal.
- Heavy Mower Performance: The new 54-inch and 60-inch mower decks combine durable welded steel construction with the flexibility to choose between clip-on or ride-on capabilities. The available Swift-Mount Auto Coupling Driveline connects as the tractor travels across the deck, making coupling faster and more convenient.
- Operator comfort and intuitive control: New side-by-side HST pedals create a more natural operating position and make forward and reverse shifts seem intuitive, helping operators work with greater comfort, confidence and control.

The five available models give customers the flexibility to choose the capacity, comfort, price and technology that best suit the way they work.
- BX2190 (19.3 Gross Horsepower): An accessible entry point to the BX90 line, combining the essential versatility of the BX with improvements across the LA355 platform and loader. Its increased power also supports larger tires and compatibility with the 60-inch mower deck.
- BX2390 Deluxe (21.6 gross horsepower) – Balances capacity, comfort and value with redesigned styling, compatibility with the LA405 heavy-duty loader and improved controls including electronically controlled PTO gearing, three-point hitch position control, telescoping outriggers and simplified mowing deck height adjustment.
- BX2690 Premium (23.9 Gross Horsepower): The most advanced BX model to date, featuring an electronically controlled motor, full-color LCD display, programmable motor speed settings, and throttle functionality built into the joystick, providing on-demand, fingertip access to preset motor speeds for faster hydraulic response and more motor power on the job.
- BX2390S and BX2690S Premium – Two backhoe-equipped configurations featuring the new BT604 backhoe, a dedicated folding seat and automatic stabilizer lock. The BX2690S Premium adds the LA405 loader and improved hydraulic performance for greater work capacity.
