The new bobblehead commemorates the famous construction photo
The most emblematic photo in the history of construction has been immortalized once again. This time with a toy.
The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, located in Milwaukee, has released an exclusive bobblehead based on the “Lunch Atop a Skyscraper” photo, according to a museum announcement Friday.
The photo, which depicts construction workers taking a break on a steel beam high above the city, was taken in September 1932, during the construction of Rockefeller Center. as a publicity stunt. The bobblehead release must coincide with the photo’s birthday, according to the announcement.
The bobbleheads are replicas of the 11 construction workers pictured, according to the release. The limited edition bobbleheads they cost $100, along with an $8 shipping charge per order.

Turner reaches the end zone with 2 stadium upgrades
Turner celebrated the completion of two stadium improvements to kick off the first few weeks of the football season.
The New York City-based contractor on Wednesday highlighted the completion of the East bleachers renovation at Michie Stadium for the Black Knights of the Army at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York.
The 160,000-square-foot project included new premium seating and hospitality spaces, upgraded concessions and improved building systems. Turner won the job in 2024.
Meanwhile, in Houston, Turner unveiled the BMW Lone Star Ballroom and BMW M Club Blue, two ultra-premium hospitality spaces at Reliant Stadium, home of the NFL’s Texans.
The venues offer fans VIP access to the field, dining and bar services and a “museum of moments” featuring Texans memorabilia, according to a statement Thursday.

Gilbane Names New Arizona Business Leader
Gilbane Building Co. has chosen a new leader in Arizona.
The Providence, Rhode Island contractor has it played Ryan Young as its new business leader in the Grand Canyon State, according to an announcement Wednesday. In the role, Young will work on the companies’ project delivery capabilities, develop teams and build relationships with the company’s customers and partners in the state.
Young brings project experience in higher education, life sciences, healthcare, corporate office, mission critical and advanced technology, according to the announcement.
“Ryan’s depth of experience throughout Arizona, combined with his operational leadership and commitment to people development, will be a great asset to Gilbane,” Ryan Heeter, vice president and leader of Gilbane’s Western division, said in the announcement.

$1 million military housing job to get modular units
Volumetric Building Cos., in partnership with Layton Construction and Gensler, will produce 3,000 residential units for a Department of Defense housing project at Joint Base San Antonio in Texas, according to a LinkedIn video ad from its managing director Vaughan Buckley.
VBC will manufacture the units, which will eventually house 6,000 soldiers, at its US factories. The modular builder also plans to expand its production capacity through additional second shifts and production lines, according to the announcement.
The program represents more than $1 billion in construction value, Buckley said.
