Kitty Hawk Offshore Wind – VA Field Office and Avangrid Renewables are in the pre-design phase of a more than $7.6 billion, 2.1 GW offshore wind farm 27 miles off the coast of Corrolla, Carolina North, and 36 miles from Sandbridge, Virginia. to begin construction in 2030, the Kitty Hawk project plans to conduct surveys through 2027 and obtain necessary approvals through 2028 before a two-year construction period begins in 2030. The wind farm is planned for 12,405 acres of Outer Banks, with up to 121 winds. turbine generators, export cables and land substation, inter-array cables and export submarine cables. Florida
The Florida Department of Transportation is developing designs for Osceola Parkway in Osceola County near Orlando. The $1.5 billion design-bid-build project aims to rebuild Interstate 4 to accommodate three general use lanes, auxiliary lanes and two express lanes in the east and west directions from County Road 532 to east of County Road 522. Interchanges are also being rebuilt. part of the project, which is targeting a tender date of November 1 and May 1, 2025, to begin construction. Florida
Plans are nearing completion for the new Airside D expansion at Tampa International Airport, a $787.4 million effort to build a 16-gate, three-level domestic and international terminal. The project also includes a new fuel ramp and hydrant system, a TSA-required security checkpoint, checked baggage screening facilities, federal inspection facilities, as well as a of baggage handling with connections to the main terminal of the airport. November 1, 2024 is listed as the target start date and July 1, 2028, as the target completion date, with the airport in the process of pre-qualifying general contractors. Gensler is listed as the project architect, HNTB and The Beck Group as contractors, and Hensel Phelps Construction Co. listed as general contractor. Alabama
Manna Beverages & Ventures has started construction on its $600 million project to build a warehouse and manufacturing facility in Hope Hull. The design-build project began grading in March and vertical construction began in August on the 1.7-million-square-foot beverage production and distribution facility on 180 acres in a new industrial park on Interstate 65 in Montgomery County. The facility will include a research and development center and bottling line and will house several major production operations, including the bottling plant, can plant and plastics molding operation. Two precast concrete buildings are planned for the site and the project includes special conditions for the inclusion of minority businesses and green building elements. Project team members include The Haskell Co. Inc., listed as architect, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, structural engineer and general contractor.
