Costa Maya, QR — A Maya Train worker died Thursday on the way to the hospital after a work accident. The accident happened when the 24-year-old backhoe operator accidentally entered a ditch and was ejected from the machine’s cab.
Other co-workers placed him on a tractor, the only vehicle available, to take him to the hospital, but he died on the way.
Emergency services were eventually notified of the accident and subsequent death. The State Rural Police were dispatched to confirm the report. The Forensic Medicine Service came to remove the body.
According to the first reports, the young worker died due to head trauma.
