The Backlog Indicator of Associate Builders and Builders (ABC) increased to 8.7 months in June, according to a member survey, announced the association. The figure has increased 0.3 months compared to May 2025 and June 2024.
“Despite a wide range of headwaters and disappointing spending data under construction in recent months, the ties bounced up to 8.7 months in June, the same level as in April,” said ABC’s chief economist, Anirban Basu, in a statement.
Companies with more than $ 100 million in annual revenue recorded the highest decline, at 11.9 months, while companies with income less than $ 30 million had an average of 8 months, the lowest decline reported for revenue size.
Regionally, the contractors of the northern regions -east and the south reported the highest setback, 9.2 and 9.4 months, respectively. The ABC’s Middle States region recorded the lowest decline at 7.3 months.
“The durability of the recoil of the contractor is partially due to the continuous rise in the construction of the data center; currently 1 in 7 members ABC are hired to carry out work in a data center,” said Basu.
“In addition to a longer decline, contractors remain widely optimistic, with 3 out of 5 contractors who expect their sales to increase during the second half of 2025,” said Basu, who added that economic uncertainty persists.
“Above all, this survey precedes the ads of more recent commercial policies, and 1 in 5 contractors interrupted a project or stopped due to the rates in June,” he said. “With some of the most recent taxes of imports they press up on construction entry prices, the expectations of the benefit margin can deal with the pressure in the coming months.”
