Built on the site of a vacant shopping center, the 120,000 square foot YMCA is a health, wellness and recreation center in Hammond, Indiana. The facility includes swimming pools, a wellness center, indoor track, studios and community spaces, serving 50,000 visitors annually.
With deep community roots, the YMCA needed to provide a space that honored its legacy while embracing innovation. Key accomplishments included completion of concrete pool tanks, structural steel construction, roof, interior framing and utility installation.

The team tackled several construction challenges, including tight city center logistics and ensuring uninterrupted services during the transition.
By 2024 there were no recordable injuries, thanks to innovative initiatives such as the use of QR codes for hazard notification and daily meetings.
