Sensera Systems closed a $27 million Series B funding round in late February led by 10 Atlantic Group, with additional investment from Egis Capital Partners and MUUS Asset Management.
CEO Robert Garber said the site monitoring company will continue to focus on artificial intelligence in construction and how it can better serve professionals in the field. The funding “will continue to drive our growth around our innovation, [with] AI to do a better job using workplace intelligence,” he notes. “We’re quite ready to help [construction users] get better project results. This round was designed to do that, to help us in our AI strategy.”
Sensera says its workplace monitoring system uses cameras built for rugged environments that are solar-powered, cellular-connected, and can be set up on-site in just 15 minutes.
The company’s SiteCloud software uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyze security threats and security performance at workplaces and deliver information to users’ mobile devices. A quick turnaround in processing allows insights to be used in on-site security briefings, he says.
“We’re more interested in providing images that give you that insight into how to train and create a better environment for everyone in the workplace,” explains Garber.
TRITEC Real Estate is using the Sensera camera and AI platform for its $113 million residential and mixed-use Station Yards project in Ronkonkoma, New York, to provide jobsite security and progress monitoring. He is the construction manager for the 53-acre development.
