A resident of San Jose, Lauritzen comes to the position with more than two decades of construction experience in California. After earning a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Colorado State University, Lauritzen began his career in Redwood City, Calif.-based DPR Construction and has worked for various contractors throughout the state of gold

In 2005, she joined the Swinerton family when the company acquired Sacramento-based HMH Builders, where she worked as a senior project manager focused on health care, according to her LinkedIn profile.

“One of my passions in life is lining up and inspiring teams,” Lauritzen said in a press release. “I’m excited for the opportunity to collaborate, challenge and empower our Silicon Valley team members to maximize their potential and deliver spaces that truly make a difference in our communities.”

At Swinerton, Lauritzen has steadily progressed through various roles, bringing his expertise to important health care, technology, office and public works projects. That background should serve him well in the Silicon Valley region, where the company is currently working on roughly $200 million in projects.

Ongoing work includes the Milpitas Unified School District Performing Arts Center, multiple projects with Stanford University and Stanford Health Care, low-cost rental housing in Salinas Valley, the West Valley Community College Learning Resource Center, confidential technology institutions and the Santa Clara Unified School District. Agnews Campus K-12.

Lauritzen’s California construction roots align well with those of Swinerton, which was founded in 1888 and holds California Contractor’s License No. 92. The company is one of five contractors in California who still have original licenses from the first 100 issued in the state, according to the California State Contractors Licensing Board.
