Leslie Duke has taken on the role of CEO of Burns & McDonnell. She succeeds Ray Kowalik, who has retired. Duke, most recently president and general manager of the company’s South Central region, joined the company in 1999 as a structural engineer and has served in a number of leadership roles. She is the eighth CEO of Burns & McDonnell. Besides, Joe Podrebarac was named the company’s first security officer; Matt Olson becomes its first chief innovation officer; i Chris Baxter is taking on a newly created role of chief risk officer.
Horwitz, a New Hope, Minn.-based provider of mechanical and plumbing design and construction services, has been named president Matt Dekkers to the added role of CEO. He joined the company last year, and is also a director on the board of the Associated General Contractors of Minnesota. Dekkers gets it Bill McCoskey, who will retire in November. The firm also promoted Todd Matelski to vice president of preconstruction, and Eric Olson was elevated to vice president of construction operations and Sam Augspurger was named director of preconstruction.
Chicago-based construction services company The Walsh Group has promoted Duane Petersen to president of its national water division and appointed him to the corporate executive committee. He was the unit’s chief operating officer and also vice president of southeast water operations. Petersen gets it Roy Eppswho will remain in a senior advisory role at the firm and will be the executive sponsor of its leadership initiative program.

Diane Grossenheider has joined McCarthy Building Cos. as senior director of business development for its St. Louis. He has nearly two decades of experience in project management and new business development.
HW Lochner Inc., an infrastructure planning and engineering firm, has hired Chris Sacks as vice president of corporate development. He will play a leading role in the firm’s mergers and acquisitions process. He was Chief Investment Officer of Re:Build Manufacturing, a nationally focused industrial technology business network and had also been a Private Equity Associate at Guardian Capital Partners.
Matt Bonanno has been named assistant vice president of HRG, an infrastructure consultant with operations in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Currently its practice area leader for civil and municipal engineering services, he is expanding his role to include all of the firm’s service offerings and management of its largest office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Bonanno succeeds Ed Ellingerwho recently became CEO.
Karen Bridbord has been named director of talent at Alberici Corp. to shape its workforce development strategy, including talent selection, succession planning and employee well-being, the firm said. She continues in her role as founder and owner of consulting firm Karen Bridbord & Associates.

McCarthy Holdings Inc. has promoted Joe Jouvenal to the director of operations. He will oversee the operations of the company and its subsidiaries and also manage the corporate human resources, quality and safety departments. In the role, Jouvenal replaces Scott Wittkopwho is also president and retires in April.
Jeff Krusinski, president of Krusinski Construction Co., Oak Brook, Ill., will fill the added role of CEO. He gets it Joe Krusinski Mr.who is now president emeritus. Jerry Krusinski has been named executive chairman. Joe Krusinski Mr. has been an officer and director of the Chicago Building Congress and the Chicagoland Construction Safety Council.
