Cohen says that there are now two work elements in Atlantic City: Casino updates and housing. Casino’s work is always “the state of art in terms of new design trends” such as colors, fabrics and lighting, he says. “Some of the city’s original casinos are approaching 40 years and still need to update.”
The most recent casinos, which are usually more popular and occupied, need regular maintenance and updates to keep “cool”, says Cohen. “Carpets need regular replacement, but this is not done as a replacement in kind, but with an eye to newer styles that reinterpret space.”
Cohen says that keeping the design trends are up to date with the casinos reinventing themselves perpetually. He says this is “driven by fierce competition and an insatiable desire to captivate”.
Cohen says modest affordable and affordable housing is a great demand, while housing projects in general require services, package delivery systems and sustainable and attractive designs.
But the construction of new casinos and office spaces are two markets that have cooled in the area, he says.
