Finalists include Fab 52, the Hurricane Ian Sanibel Access Project and the Klamath River Renewal Project

After a year-long effort that began with more than 800 entries, industry judges and ENR editors have selected a trio of complex and critical projects as finalists for Project of the Year in ENR’s 2025 Best of the Best competition.

At the beginning of this month, the 20 winners of the category were announcedselected by several rounds of judging. Panels of industry experts reviewed hundreds of national entries submitted by project teams and assessed them based on their impact on the community, improving construction industry practice, innovation in design, safety and quality of work.

Based on a list submitted by the judges, ENR editors examined each project, considered additional sources for new details, and selected the following three projects as finalists for the “Best in Show” award:

In alphabetical order, they are:

Fab 52 (Eagle Project)based in Chandler, Arizona. Originally posted by Hoffman Construction on ENR Mountain States & Southwest in the Manufacturing category

Hurricane Ian Sanibel Access Projectlocated in Sanibel, Florida. Originally posted by Superior-de Moya Joint Venture Team at ENR Texas & Southeast in the Highway/Bridge category

Klamath River Renewal Projectlocated in Hornbrook, Calif. Originally Posted by Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. at ENR West in the Water/Environment category

The finalists, as well as all category and judges’ recognition winning projects, will be featured in more depth in the March 16 print issue of ENR, which will also reveal the Project of the Year.

ENR will recognize these projects and their teams at a brunch at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers in New York City on March 26, as well as at the magazine’s 61st.th Annual Excellence Award Gala that will also highlight the magazine’s top 25 news producers and the Excellence Award winner.

In the spring, ENR will launch its call for the Regional US Best Projects 2026 competition. For more information, visit last year’s entry page at www.enr.com/bestprojects.

Registration dates and eligibility will be updated once the call begins.
