Balfour Beatty continues its executive reshuffle with another C-suite hire, this time in a legal role.
The London-based infrastructure builder has appointed Ed Egerton, an executive with more than two decades of experience in the infrastructure, engineering and energy sectors, as new legal and commercial director of the companyaccording to an announcement Tuesday. Egerton will join the company in September.

Egerton comes from AtkinsRéalis, a global engineering, design and project management firm based in Montreal. Most recently, Egerton held the title of Acting General Counsel. He implemented AI solutions, negotiated strategic transactions and managed acquisitions and divestitures, according to the announcement.
At Balfour Beatty, Egerton will lead the company’s commercial, legal, procurement and secretarial functions, according to the announcement. He will be responsible for strengthening the company’s risk management capabilities.

Egerton will succeed Tracey Wood, group general counsel and company secretary, a company spokesperson told Construction Dive. In September, Wood will join energy firm SSE plc.
The move is another step in the rebuilding of the company’s C-suite. In addition to Egarton’s appointment, Balfour Beatty has appointed a new CEO and CFO over the past 12 months.
This new CEO, Hoare, is also a former AtkinsRéalis executive. he started at Balfour Beatty last September after former chief executive Leo Quinn stepped down and took up the role of executive chairman of travel retailer WHSmith.
Meanwhile, Myles Westcott, who was appointed to fill the position of Phil Harrison, Outgoing CFOassumed these responsibilities following those of the company annual general meeting in May.
