The Sun Streams 4 project, a 377 MWdc, 300 MWac/1200 MWh solar PV and 300 MWac battery storage facility 40 miles west of Phoenix, has been completed approximately a third and has a maximum workforce of approximately 250 solar construction workers, including More than 65 registered apprentices.
With a goal of completion in mid-2025, the project is being led by McCarthy Building Cos.’ renewable energy team, acting as an EPC contractor. Developed by Boston-based Longroad Energy as owner and operator, this is the renewable energy company’s largest solar and battery storage project in the US.
“The solar workforce is playing an important role in Arizona’s transition to sustainable renewable energy,” says Dan Brown, a member of McCarthy’s renewable energy team. “This is our fifth project with Longroad, and we are proud to continue cultivating and developing Arizona’s skilled solar workforce.”
Sun Streams 4 is Longroad’s largest solar project to date and includes funds from the Inflation Reduction Act.
The project site will include wildlife corridors to protect native species habitat and allow wildlife to pass through during operations.
