Over the winter of 2024-25, the project team placed more than 1.2 million cubic meters of dredged sand along three sections of beach as part of a larger effort to protect the vulnerable coastline from erosion and storm surge risks.

To ensure the safety of workers ashore and on board performing heavy equipment operations amid bitterly cold temperatures, severe weather and rough seas, the project’s daily occupational hazard analyzes were revised in real time to reflect changing conditions.
