Boston-based builder Suffolk Construction has hired former Turner Construction executive Darin Hart to lead the growth of its contractor manufacturing and advanced technology segments. announced in a September 26 press release.

As the company’s new senior vice president of advanced technology, Hart will leverage his 35 years of experience and strong relationships to grow Suffolk’s portfolio of advanced technology and manufacturing projects, according to the release. The builder said Hart’s expertise in integrating technology and predictive analytics will be crucial to maintaining its competitive edge and delivering real-time insights to customers.

Hart spent more than 23 years with New York City-based Turner as deputy chief operating officer and vice president, according to Hart’s LinkedIn profile.

Suffolk hired Hart during what it sees as a pivotal time for the advanced technology and manufacturing sector: The contractor pointed to statistics from the U.S. Department of Commerce, which expects the U.S. to make nearly 30 percent of semiconductors vanguard of the world in 2032.

Indeed, the sector is having its moment as massive construction continues appears all over the countryand large contractors, such as Fluor, see data centers and semiconductors as a fundamental part of its strategic approach.
