Dive brief:
- Euna Solutions launched a solicitation advisor feature within its Euna Procurement platform that uses artificial intelligence to review draft requests for proposals and recommend improvements before RFPs are issued.
- The feature, introduced on April 29, is designed to flag ambiguity within public sector requests, along with conflicting criteria and “gaps” between a local government’s assessment criteria and the information it seeks from suppliers, according to the company.
- “Each addendum adds time and administrative burden to the procurement process,” said Mykola Konrad, Product Manager at Euna Solutions, in a press release. “When teams catch issues at the draft stage rather than after publication, they have a better chance of reducing delays, improving supplier understanding and running a more competitive system. Diving knowledge:
As AI proliferates, more local governments are incorporating it into their operations, with a Gallup poll finding that 21% of public sector employees use AI several times a week.
The primary goal of using AI for local government workers is to increase efficiency, according to a survey by Euna Solutions earlier this year. Improving procurement time and efficiency has been an area of focus for some cities, with Dallas introducing AI to its procurement process last year.
According to Euna Solutions, the average RFP project takes nearly 90 hours, citing data from 2024 National Cooperative Procurement Partners. Despite the time spent, 62 percent of government agencies see only two to five bids in RFPs on average, according to the company’s State of Government Procurement 2025 report.
According to Konrad, Solicitation Advisor represents a departure from the company’s previous efforts using AI to generate RFP drafts more quickly.
The company sees “additional value for AI in helping recruiting teams improve pre-launch application quality by bringing intelligent review, guidance and category-aware insight to their workflow,” Konrad said.
