Diving knowledge:
Located at the intersection of the Back Bay, Fenway and Symphony neighborhoods, Hilton Boston Back Bay is close to the Museum of Fine Arts and the Hynes Convention Center, as well as the new Lyrik Back Bay developments and Lego Americas headquarters. The property is also close to Berklee College of Music and Northeastern University, which also have plans to grow.
The hotel is “at the epicenter of the momentum that marks the neighborhood’s next chapter,” Mohammad Hashesh, the hotel’s general manager, said in a statement. “Our renovation was inspired by this energy, offering guests a more contemporary Hilton experience defined by thoughtful design, elevated dining, wellness and technology.”
According to Hilton, the renovations incorporate an “old meets new” design aesthetic. The hotel opened in 1982by Travel Weekly.
Offering views of Boston’s skyline, the rooms “prioritize comfort” and include modernized bathrooms and smart connectivity features. Premium rooms measure 450 square feet and include luxury upgrades such as electronic curtains.
Meanwhile, the hotel’s “stunning new lobby” features patterned marble, walnut work and copper accent lighting, according to Hilton. The establishment also has a new restaurant called 40 Dalton Kitchen & Bar that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The “drastically” expanded gym is equipped with Peloton bikes, connected Life Fitness equipment and an outdoor wellness space, reflecting “the growing importance of well-being in the travel experience,” by Hilton.
In addition, the renovated meeting and event space spans 15,000 square feet in 13 different venues, including executive boardrooms, conference rooms, breakout spaces and ballrooms. This summer, the hotel plans to open The Commonwealth, a new 2,500-square-foot event venue with “abundant” natural light.
The property also aims to deepen its role with the community through planned collaborations related to America’s 250th birthday and activated wellness programming, including on the hotel’s rooftop.
In addition to cultural sites, the hotel is located next to several shopping centers, including the Shops at Prudential Center, Newbury Street, and Copley Place. Global investment company Certares acquired the hotel in the spring of 2024 for $171 million along with Belcourt Capital Partners.
Earlier this month, aparthotel company Kasa debuted Kasa Boston at Fenway, in what it calls one of the “highest-demand, lowest-supply cities” in the country.
