Los Angeles-based Tutor Perini and its subsidiary Black Construction settled for $113.3 million contract to build a missile integration test facility at the US Naval Base in Guam, the contractor announced this week.
Commissioned by the Naval Installations Engineering Systems Command for the Pacific, the project includes the construction of a single-story, 57,664-square-foot missile integration test facility on a pile foundation deep
The test facility will support missile processing spaces, a missile test cell with a control room, an administration area, and storage and service rooms.
Beyond the construction of the structure itself, the joint venture’s scope of work also includes the demolition of an existing building, associated site improvements and other support facilities at the Guam base, a North American territory located approximately 3,300 miles west of Hawaii.
The project also specifies plumbing, air conditioning and ventilation, lighting and electrical power, telecommunications, life safety and fire protection systems, an emergency power generator and an associated fuel tank, according to the press release.
Another California-based contractor has also landed work on the island. Watsonville-based Granite Construction recently won another $113 million contract to build facilities at the Blaz Navy base camp.
