The infrastructure builder based in Sant Antoni named Travis Mross as presidentaccording to an announcement Tuesday. Mross, who joined the company as an intern in 2000, previously served as executive vice president.
In his new role, Mross will focus on customer service and predictable delivery in sectors including transportation, water, underground utilities and civil works operations, according to the announcement. Some of his priorities will include a focus on strategic growth, operational excellence and business consistency.
Established in 1924, Zachry Construction specializes in underground utilities, water infrastructure, civil works and heavy highway construction. Mrss promotion to president comes after increasing growth in transport, water and civil infrastructure.
In fact, the company had its say recent acquisition of Crescent Constructorsa move that strengthened the builder’s focus on water projects, as part of this growing mindset.
Zachry has competition in the space: contractors ranging from private builders to large public contractors, such as Jacobs and Ferrovial, are setting the opportunity offered by the water infrastructure in the construction sector. More recently, Carollo Engineers earned a position as construction manager in the first water purification and reuse project in Nevada.
The federal government has also taken note. The Home Office announced in March that it would invest $889 million in water infrastructure projects in six western states: California, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.
“As demand for critical infrastructure continues to grow, it’s our job to bring consistency, discipline and a high level of execution to every project,” Mross said in the press release. “This approach will continue to guide how we serve customers and grow the business.”
